I was sitting in the airport feeling extremely grumpy that our flight keeps getting freaking delayed when I decided to check for free interweb access. I discovered that indeed I do have free 'net, and checked my email to discover that I won a Dreamwidth account! I'm so excited to be here, I can't even tell you. It's kept me entertained for nearly an hour already with configuration, and I'm far less grumpy. So thanks,
denise, for drawing me out of the OpenID users with validated emails & vastly improving my day!

Security in both directions was actually fine (though in SJ they did scold me for standing 2 bags up in one bin rather than placing them flat in separate bins). Just US Airways' complete incompetence at scheduling. First & last trip with them, let me tell you.

I concur with a lot of the party's positions, but I became convinced during the last decade that it would be more productive to push the Democrats left than it would be to advocate for a third party. *shrug* Which isn't anything but a compromise position, but oh well. Also, I got tired of crap like being double-plus searched at airports, and I know that I wasn't the only party member that happened to. After I had kids, my tolerance for dealing with random totalitarian stuff for the sake of political resistance declined a lot. I was flying to and fro with Herself and I was afraid that if I got detained for my political party membership that they'd separate us, which would have been dreadful.
Trains! I likes them!

We did indeed manage to get to & from Phoenix, despite their best efforts. I'm sure your hopes helped! ;)
